Minneapolis Public Schools staff are available to assist families to get connected to resources and answer all your questions. Contacting the Student Placement staff is always a great place to start, but you can also visit these other MPS websites to find out more: 

COVID-19 Health and Safety is a high priority for MPS schools to keep students, staff and visitors safe; also see the COVID-19 data dashboard that reports COVID cases at MPS schools along with the city of Minneapolis and Hennepin County.

College and Career Readiness is the essence of MPS' vision to have "Every Child College and Career Ready."

Early Childhood Screening is a process that supports children being ready for kindergarten by finding possible health or developmental concerns that may impact a child's learning. Contact staff today to schedule a free screening.

English Learners have many resources available to them as they learn English while also learning other academic coursework.

Extended Day Programs are available to many students as they explore a wide variety of learning opportunities after schools. 

Family Engagement provides you with many opportunities to get involved with your student's school and to also provide MPS with feedback on how we can improve our services to students and families.

Immunizations are needed for all students when they start school.

Mental health support for students to help them work through their personal struggles so they are more ready to learn and excel at school.  

MPS First Stop is a one-stop-shop to connects families to resources that support them and prepare their children for kindergarten.

Minneapolis Kids before and after school care is a fee-based, year-round Minneapolis Community Education program that offers fun, high-quality care before school, after school, during winter and spring breaks, on school release days, and during summer vacation.

School Meals are provided to students every school day.

Special Education staff are here to answer all your questions and to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to prioritize the goals your student will work on during the school year.

Teen Parent Services supports all pregnant and parenting students enrolled at MPS and their children with a variety of programming including high-quality early education.

Transportation Services to learn the about who qualifies for transportation and how to request a stop. Student bus stop locations are determined based on the student’s home address, with transportation available to a school located within district attendance areas.
